January 28, 2014, Knoxville, TN

Baker Realty Company, a leader in the Industrial Real Estate market in the East Tennessee Valley Region, finished this year with a successful record for sales and the leasing of industrial property. Baker Realty sold and leased approximately 1,600,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space ranging in size from 4,800 to 352,000 Sq. Ft., totaling over $20,000,000 and creating an estimated 500 jobs.

Founded in 1982, Baker Realty has over 70 years of combined experience and knowledge in industrial marketing, resulting in a highly successful and professional service for its clientele. “Because of this knowledge and expertise, we are often called upon to represent companies looking to expand, relocate, or dispose of industrial property in the area. We have worked hard to build our company’s reputation as the leading industrial real estate company in our region. This has been accomplished by developing long-term relationships with many national and international corporations and commercial real estate companies,” reported Bob Thornton of Baker Realty Company,

Thornton added, “Our Company has experienced a noticeable increase in market activity, especially in the last two quarters of 2013. This is mainly due to expansion in the national manufacturing sector. Automotive and related industries have had a substantial economic impact and we believe sales and leasing prices are stabilizing. Vacancies and unemployment will continue to decrease, making our company cautiously optimistic about 2014.”

Some of the recent transactions in the Knoxville area include: the Sea Ray Boat World Headquarters in Forks-of-the-River Industrial Park, 352,000 Sq. Ft., Rail Bearing Services Buildings in East Bridge Industrial Park, 131,000 Sq. Ft.; Ryerson Steel Building in West Bridge Industrial Park, 162,000 Sq. Ft.; U.S. Marine Buildings in Dandridge; 185,000 Sq. Ft., the Rock Tenn Building in Knoxville; 110,000 Sq. Ft., and three buildings for BAE Systems in Jefferson City totaling 90,000 Sq. Ft.
